Our history
Why we help companies and their staff to learn foreign languages
Languages have always brought me closer to people. I grew up in the bilingual canton of Fribourg and attended a French-speaking nursery, followed by a German-speaking primary school and a German-speaking secondary school.
When I was 17, I spent a year living in the USA, where I got to know American culture and improved my English. Later, I worked at the national Erasmus agency, where I experienced first-hand how languages bring people together, broaden horizons and shape the course of people’s lives.
These experiences have stayed with me to this day and have motivated me to take over the PLL Language School in Liestal. I would like to pass on the same gift to other people and businesses: access to new languages, cultures and opportunities.
Our teaching approach is also based on this principle, enabling you and company staff to learn English, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and Swiss German with us.

How we work
With a Swiss heart and mind, you’ll learn a new foreign language successfully whilst having fun
People and teams come to us because they want to gain a sense of security, clarity and self-confidence – in their everyday lives, at work and within Swiss culture.
We work in small groups of 3–5 participants so that your voice is heard and you can make the most of every minute. Our native-speaking teachers are trained in teaching methods and will guide you towards your goal – in a way that is easy to understand, motivating and tailored specifically to people learning in Switzerland.
Before the course begins, we’ll carry out a placement test so that we can understand exactly what you or your staff need. We’ll then structure the lessons around this.
