Progressive Language Learning AG (PLL)

1. Scope
These General Terms and Conditions (GTC) apply to all services provided by Progressive Language Learning AG (hereinafter referred to as ‘PLL’). They apply in particular to language courses, training sessions, workshops, corporate programmes and any other services booked with PLL.
By registering for a course, making a booking via the online shop or accepting a quotation, these Terms and Conditions are deemed to have been accepted.
Individual agreements with corporate clients take precedence over these Terms and Conditions.
2. Range of products and services
PLL offers language training in various formats, in particular:
- One-to-one tuition
- Group classes
- Company courses
- Intensive courses
- Online courses
- Workshops
- Special programmes
The scope of services is set out in the relevant course description, quotation or online shop listing.
3. Conclusion of the contract
A contract is formed by:
- Registration via the website or by email
- Online booking via the webshop
- Acceptance of a quotation
- written confirmation from PLL
PLL reserves the right to reject applications without giving reasons.
4. Prices
All prices are quoted in Swiss francs (CHF).
The prices published at the time of booking shall apply.
5. Terms of payment
Invoices are payable within 30 days, unless otherwise agreed.
In the event of late payment, PLL may:
- Charge late payment fees
- temporarily block access to courses
- withhold further payments
6. Webshop
Courses, workshops and lesson packages can be booked online via the webshop.
The presentation of products in the online shop does not constitute a legally binding offer, but rather an invitation to place an order.
The contract is concluded as soon as an order confirmation is sent by email.
7. Acceptance of the General Terms and Conditions
Before the contract is concluded, the contracting party will be provided with the applicable terms and conditions in electronic form or as a printed copy.
Before completing an order in the online shop, customers must confirm that they have read and accept these Terms and Conditions.
This consent is usually given by ticking the relevant box during the ordering process.
8. Payment methods in the webshop
Various payment methods can be offered in the webshop, in particular:
- Credit card
- TWINT
- PayPal
- Invoice
- other online payment providers
The available payment methods are displayed during the ordering process.
9. Digital services and course access
There is no physical delivery for online courses or digital services.
Once a booking has been successfully made, customers will receive:
- a booking confirmation
- Course information
- where applicable, login details for online platforms
Your login details are personal and must not be disclosed to third parties.
10. Course organisation
PLL reserves the right to:
- to postpone or cancel courses if there are insufficient participants
- adjust course times
- replacing teachers
Course fees that have already been paid will be refunded in full if the course is cancelled.
11. Absences
As a general rule, missed lessons are not refundable.
Private lessons:
Cancellations made up to 24 hours before the start of the lesson are free of charge.
Cancellations made after this time will be charged in full.
Group classes:
Missed lessons cannot be made up or refunded.
12. Lesson packs
Lesson packages are subject to a specified period of validity.
Lessons that have not been taken will expire once the agreed validity period has ended.
The validity of one-to-one lessons depends on the lesson package and begins on the date of booking (email, confirmation via the online shop). After this date, the lessons expire. There is no entitlement to a refund or credit note for future course bookings.
Lesson packs can be obtained as follows:
- 10-hour package: to be used within 3 months
- 20-hour package: to be used within 6 months
- 30-hour package: to be used within 9 months
- 40-hour package: to be used within 12 months
Group lessons remain valid for 3 months beyond the regularly agreed course duration, starting from the course start date. After this period, the lessons expire. There is no entitlement to a refund or credit note for future course bookings.
13. Booking an appointment
When using an online appointment booking system, participants are responsible for booking their own appointments.
Any changes to appointments must be made in accordance with the specified cancellation deadlines.
14. Company courses
For company courses, the agreed terms and conditions as set out in the quotation apply.
Participants may be replaced by others from within the same organisation, provided that this is organisationally feasible.
15. Cancellation by participants
Private customers may cancel booked courses under the following conditions:
- up to 14 days before the course starts: free of charge
- 13–7 days before the course starts: 50 per cent of the course fee will be charged
- less than 7 days before the course starts: 100 per cent of the course fees will be charged
For corporate courses, the terms and conditions agreed in the quotation apply.
16. Cancellation of online bookings
For services with a fixed date (e.g. courses or workshops), there is generally no statutory right of withdrawal once a booking has been made.
The cancellation terms set out in these Terms and Conditions apply.
17. Technical requirements for online teaching
Participants are responsible for:
- a stable internet connection
- suitable hardware
- necessary software (e.g. Zoom or similar platforms)
PLL accepts no liability for technical problems on the part of participants.
18. Vouchers and discount codes
Vouchers or discount codes can be redeemed in the online shop.
These:
- are not payable
- may be limited in time
- are valid only in accordance with the specified conditions
19. Data Protection
PLL processes personal data in accordance with the Swiss Data Protection Act (DSG).
The data is used solely for the purposes of contract administration, course organisation and customer communication.
Data will only be disclosed to third parties to the extent necessary for the performance of the contract.
20. Copyright
All materials used in lessons are protected by copyright.
Distribution or reproduction without PLL’s consent is not permitted.
21. Liability
PLL shall only be liable for damages resulting from breaches of duty caused by wilful misconduct or gross negligence.
PLL accepts no liability for participants’ personal belongings.
22. Force majeure
PLL shall not be liable for any failure to perform its obligations due to events of force majeure, such as:
- Natural phenomena
- Pandemics
- Military events
- Terrorist attacks
- regulatory orders
- technical faults beyond PLL’s control
23. Sprache / Gültige Fassung
Bei Abweichungen oder Widersprüchen zwischen der deutschen und der englischen Fassung dieser Allgemeinen Geschäftsbedingungen ist die deutsche Fassung massgebend.
24. Gerichtsstand und anwendbares Recht
Swiss law shall apply exclusively.
The place of jurisdiction is the registered office of Progressive Language Learning AG.
